The replacement of a main hydraulic pump is a significant investment. Follow these steps to ensure maximum service life:
- Contamination Control is PARAMOUNT: If the previous pump failed (especially due to metal debris), a complete system flush is absolutely necessary to remove contaminants. Failure to do so will likely cause the new pump to fail prematurely.
- Replace ALL Filters: Install new main hydraulic return, suction, and high-pressure filters. The pilot system filter should also be replaced.
